A question from Richard Banker
Hi Frank, the blog talks about how to sustain the dieting part, but how do you sustain the exercise part and what kind of exercise do you do? You look great by the way. How many of your NYTimes readers are seeing you for the first time!!
For exercise, I try to build in a lot of variety, and I schedule appointments --- with friends for runs, with trainers for workouts, though it's a financial commitment and sacrifice --- so that I'm held to my plan/pledge to do it. I run maybe three times a week. I do a group or private Pilates for an hour a week. I do at least once a week an intense 30-minute weight-lifting session of a very refined kind with this particular training center. And then between that I try to bike a little, do some mat work at home, etc. I should actually look much, MUCH better given how much I exercise, but I consume a lot!
As for Times readers, most are seeing me for the first time. It's an odd feeling.
