A question from Jessica DeLeon

Loved your book! But what will the people think? I think the people will love it.

Answer:

Hah! To anyone reading this site who hasn't cracked open the book, this funny question refers to my Grandma Bruni's constant habit of worrying, with everything she did, every paint color she chose, about "what THE PEOPLE would think." The "people" were this unseen but ever-present jury of imagined peers who watched and judged whatever you did.

Part of getting less crazy and healthier about weight and eating is letting go of the panic over what the people will think. At least that's what I MYSELF think. What will "the people" think of the book? I hope they'll enjoy reading it and find some humor, pathos and truth in it. But even if they don't, it's an honest, heartfelt effort. I'm going to try to content myself with that.

Thanks--hugely--for assuming "the people" will love it. Because all said and done, that WOULD be nice.
